Get a taste of true Tuscany at the Fattoria Corzano e Paterno

Treat yourself with an unforgettable gastronomic experience. Try fine Chianti wine selection, freshly made olive oil and cheese milk from the farm’s Sardinian sheep. Fattoria Corzano e Paterno is a place all gourmets should visit. And, the good news is that it’s open all year round. So, let’s see what’s waiting for you.

Tuscan local farm with an old history

Located 40 minutes drive from Villa Boccaccio, Fattoria Corzano e Paterno is a two hundred hectare farm dedicated to the production of the finest quality wine, olive oil and sheep cheeses

Corzano is a place with an old family history. The farm had been in the hands of the Niccolini family for centuries. Originally, there were two distinct farms lying adjacent to one another. But in 1976, a Swiss architect Gelpke acquired and united them. Nowadays, Corzano is owned and operated by his heirs

Learn the process of wine and cheese making from the experts

Take a guided tour of the farm. You’ll discover the old wine cellars, learn the whole process of winemaking and see 100-years-old barrels. Besides that, Corzano will introduce you to the traditional methods of sheep milk cheese making. There are 15 kinds of cheese that has been produced there since 1992.

You’ll also see the olive groves which are cultivated according to the principles of organic agriculture. You’re lucky if you visit the farm in November, during the harvest season. You’ll have a chance to look at how the olives are pressed in the experimental oil mill Torre Bianca of Marco and Matteo Mugelli.

Time for the divine tasting!

After the informative excursion, you’ll be rewarded with a tasting of the locally made products. Just imagine: you’re sitting in the wicker chair at the patio and enjoying the magnificent views over the Tuscan hills. The table is already served with wine glasses and plates of freshly made cheese. Here comes your first series of Chianti wines. The wine set is accompanied by four kinds of cheese served with chutney, truffle honey and berry jam. You’re sampling the first drops of the extra virgin oil on crusty Tuscan bread and now know the taste of fettunta – bread and oil combo. Sounds dreamy, isn’t it? After the tasting, grab a bottle of wine you liked the most at the gift shop to surprise your close ones at home. We recommend you to take care of a tour reservation in advance.

There’s no better way to taste Tuscany than spending a lovely day at Fattoria Corzano e Paterno doing nothing but eating sheep milk cheese and drinking wine. Stop at the Villa Boccaccio and let your gastronomic journey begin.
